The Blue Part of our Planet

We depend on oceans in many ways, and healthy oceans can be the solution for many of the challenges we face like climate change, biodiversity loss, food and resources for a growing population. But the oceans are in a bad condition, they need our help in a common effort, and we need more data. Therefore the UN declared this decade as "Ocean decade for sustainable development", and the EU started the "Mission Healthy Oceans - Starfish 2030". Both initiatives aim to involve the whole society and motivate everybody to take part in building a good future for our wonderful blue planet. www.oceandecade.org
