Our friend and dear member Prof. Dr. Herwig Paretzke will present about the importance of stupidity in research.
In science there is no one who knows the correct answer. But by no means should this lead to passivity of the scientist, to accept ignorance by choice, and therewith to the efforts of discovering the unknown by asking questions after questions. This is also called productive stupidity. The important is to stay open for new ideas and not to fear contradictions.
