Share Our College Knowledge (SOCK) works with the Guidance Department of Milton High School to provide first generation students with support and assistance in their college application and selection process.  These students will be the first in their family (including their parents) to attend college.

Students are paired with volunteers from the Milton community on a one-to-one basis. Students and their “college coaches” will actively participate in workshops about key dates in the college application process, the Common App, financial aid, and scholarship opportunities. They will also have an opportunity to visit colleges and American Student Assistance (ASA) in Boston to review financial aid award letters.

Founded by Milton resident Anne Comber and funded by a generous grant from a MHS family, the program was created to level the playing field for all students applying to college. SOCK was launched in Fall 2014 in partnership with MHS principal James Jette, Director of Guidance Karen Cahill, and the Guidance Department staff.
