Minutes For Rotary Club of Wichita Falls,
October 1, 2026, by Tommy Richardson

President Greg gonged us to order at 12:05. David Hartman led us
in prayer, Cara Sauceda led us in the Pledge of Allegiance and a
rousing rendition of “Texas Our Texas”. We then greeted one
another as some of us mumbled ROTARY. Our guests for the day
included David Hartman’s grandson Jesse and Arnold Oliver’s wife
of 24 years.

Brag bucket participants included Carla presenting Judy Koetter
with one of her famous pumpkin bread loaves, Sara Sorge
announcing a new job, Andy sharing a full table of Rotarians who
usually avoid him, and Arnold bragging on his 24 years with
Tommie. This week’s brag money was directed to the Shelter Box
program. Jackie Lebow presented birthday celebrants Lisa Musick
and John Deason with Judy Koetter’s famous cinnamon rolls. Four
additional rolls were auctioned for $50.00. It was announced that
our meeting next week will be moved to the Kemp Center
downtown.

Cara Sauceda introduced our program, Isha Howerton,
President of The Junior League of Wichita Falls. The organization
began in 1957 as the Junior Service League and associated with
the Junior League in 1969. They are a group of philanthropic
women who have contributed greatly to the betterment of Wichita
Falls through the years. Some of their partnerships include
Riverbend Nature CENTER, Miracle League, and Partners in
Education (PIE). The League has also sponsored the German
delegation at SAFB since the inauguration of ENJJPT at Sheppard
Air Force Base. Their biggest fund raiser has been Christmas
Magic for the past 35 years. It occurs on the first weekend of
November each year. They also assist the Food Bank with their
annual Food Fight Drive.

We closed with the Four-Way Test at 12:54.
