March 19, 2026 Notes by Noros Martin
On the very last day of winter 2026, our Rotary Club of Wichita Falls was called to order at 12:03pm. President Cara struck our bell and we all stood after enjoying a wonderful lunch prepared and presented to us. Please, take time to thank all of the staff who prepares the excellent food each Thursday.
Our very own pastor, Dave Hartman came forward to give words of wisdom and prayer. Thank you, Dave, for your great leadership and your prayers today.
David Spencer came to the podium to lead us in the pledge and song. Aren’t we grateful to have such a “grand old flag” to repeat our Pledge of Allegiance? We then joined, somewhat in harmony, and sang “Home on the Range.” Wonderful job to all Rotarians for this sing along. I believe we Rotarians could give the New York Met Opera a good run for their money.
We were very pleased that Monica Horton brought our Rotary Exchange Student, Pauli, from Slovakia. Welcome back to our Rotary Club for a visit, Pauli. We hope you are enjoying your time here in the United States and Texas.
President Cara returned to the front with the Sunshine Report. She reported that John Deason was recovering from his recent surgery and is doing well. We hope to see him back at Rotary soon. Noros passed the “Brag Bucket” around so we could tell about our children, their sports and many others type of brags.
Judy Koetter was next to the front to recognize those having Birthdays in March. Congratulations to those Rotarians celebrating getting another year older. Those folks are: Jackie Lebow (5th), Roland Ramsey (16th), Brycen Whitaker (20th), Kenny Weeks (25th), and last but not least Noros Martin (16th). I sure hope we all live to celebrate another year.
We had a dessert auction to help place some more money in our coffers to give back to our community. Carla Dowlen brought a wonderful apple pie. The buyer of this masterpiece was our very own Dutch I P – “Spin”. Thank you, Spin. Judy Koetter had a birthday cinnamon roll left over that she included in the auction.
Next we were honored to be introduced to, Londynn Byrd, Rotary Club City Wide Youth of the Month. Today Londynn was accompanied by her Mom, Delecia Byrd, and Claire Ball, the assistant director, of the North West Boys and Girls Clubs. This young lady is 15 years old and is in the 9th grade at City View Jr/Sr High School. She told us that her favorite subjects are English and Language Arts, and she maintains a “B’’ and above on her report cards. Londynn told us, “I believe school is important, because you need an education for anything important in life.” The N/W Club told us that Londynn has a lot of potential, and she is a very pleasant, young lady who will accomplish big things in the future. Congratulations, Londynn, on being selected for this great honor and good luck in your future.

President Cara introduced our program for today. The program was information about the Lifewave X39 Stem Cell Activation Patch. I will not make comments regarding this presentation today in this article.
President Cara dismissed our Rotary Club meeting at 12:51pm after we stood and repeated the Rotary 4 Way Test. Hope to see you all next week and enjoy the coming of spring 2026.
