Our new Club President, Greg Brownfield, gonged the bell at 12:04 and our meeting began.

David Hartman led us in a very patriotic 250th Anniversary prayer and our own concert tenor, David Spencer, led us in the Pledge and song, America the Beautiful.

President Brownfield relayed a rather bright Sunshine Report: Jeff Spoeri has returned from North Carolina where he had been visiting his mother who is recovering from an illness. David Hartman mentioned a BBC news piece about his son, John, a woodworker in Kentucky, who made a lithographic image of the Boston Massacre that is on display in a WF museum. Rance Hogue announced the birth of his 5th grandchild.

Several Announcements: Please check in at the back table when entering our meeting. District Governor, Angie Cox, will visit our club August 27 and we hope to have a new pianist for club music next week!

Then it was down to business with our new Flag Team Coordinator, David Adams, who takes over for Andy Kocher & Steve Priester who have guided our Flag Program for several years. We have 1,225 flag subscribers allowing us to raise $50,000 for club projects and community activities. David emphasized “working together for the common good”.

President Brownfield then outlined the Goals for his term as Club President:

Boost membership of 78 members

Raise $14,000 for the Annual Fund and $1,000 for Polio Plus

Complete a new service project

Maintain the Rotaract Club and start a new Interact Club

Support the RYLA Leadership Program and Outbound Youth Exchange

Fund one Shelter Box for world disaster relief

Fund Paul Harris Fellowship with $14,000 and Polio Plus with $1,000

Without further ado, we recited the 4 Way Test and off we went. Happy 250th
