What makes a grand event? Well, if you said fun, food and fellowship, then you just described Downtown Rotary’s change of command. Shellie Green was presented with her Red Badge and welcomed as a new member.
Then Pres Cara gave a slide show of the past year, and we were all reminded of the very successful year we have had and the hard work and dedication of our leaders.
With leaders in mind, we started with “Perfect Attendance,” and recognized Carla (12 Years); Past Pres Andy (21 Years); and Jackie (27 Years).
Then the outgoing board members were asked to stand and be recognized which included Judy Koetter, Jackie Lebow, Josh Phillips, Roland Ramsey, Mike Saville, and Jeremy Woodward. The new board for 2026-27 includes: Carla Dowlen, Donald Hughes, Dr. Donny Lee, Sara Sorge, Mark Wise, Braden Wood, Past Pres Lisa Stephens-Musick, Jake Munholland, Lance Spruiell, Jeff Spoeri, Brycen Whitaker, and Brady Woolsey.
Our new team of leaders for 2026-27 include President Greg Brownfield, Pres Elect Jon Dearolf, Vice Pres Will Goodner, Secretary Andy Kocher, Treasurer Alex Pappas, and Sgt at Arms Steve Preister/Glenn Tartar. We have a great new team, but a successful year comes in the combined efforts of direction and completion of the tasks which requires volunteers for every function. This club always responds to every event.
President Cara thanked everyone for a very successful year especially in membership. Then Dr David presented a very informative history of our President Cara, and we were reminded of the many obstacles and challenges that life places on us.
Thank the Lord, He places people in our lives people who encourage and strengthen us for each new day. Our retiring President has had a valuable and blessed life with many years remaining to pass those tenets on to young people she cares for at the Boys & Girls Club. Dr. David remarks were truly heartfelt represented by the standing ovation at the end. This is one time he told the truth.
Following Dr. Hartman, we installed President Greg Brownfield and the new board. President Greg, who was there with his wife, gave a short acceptance speech and then we officially closed out the year of 2025- 26 with the Four Way Test by Past President Cara Sauceda.
