Josh Phillips presented a Rotary check to F.L.A.G. Program.

Our program, seeing as how we were meeting at the Wichita Falls Brewing Company, was The Art of Brewing, with our speaker, Matt Bitsche.  Matt discussed the four ingredients in beer: water, malted barley, yeast, and hops.  The water is filtered via reverse osmosis with minerals added back in.  Water activates the malted barley into simple and complex carbohydrates.  This was a hands-on demonstration.  It takes 45 minutes to brew a batch of beer, depending on what type of beer.  I now know that IPA stands for Inda Pale Ale, developed because of the long trip by ship from Great Britain to India during the colonization of India by the British.  This is a craft brewery and brews in small batches which enables a multitude of flavors and styles of beer.  I looked at the tap behind the bar and was astonished by seeing 18 identified taps, some with non-alcoholic beverages.  This was a great program.

On conclusion of the program, John stated that there will be a donation made to the WFISD Foundation in the name of those speaking with us today.

After the Four Way Test, we adjourned at 1:03 pm.
