Once again, we all enjoyed the lovely music provided by the pianist Ms. Susan Cusenbary. This is a relaxing, enjoyable meal that makes the week more delightful.
President Arnold gonged the bell at exactly 12:00 noon by my world clock and Dr. Dave Hartman gave the invocation and always include a word of thanks for our loving and forgiving God.
The pledge and song was led by our fearless song leader Cara Sauceda and she had selected a song that was sung to the tune of “Amazing Grace”. Noros did the best he could but he sounded like the Willie Nelson version.
Visitors were presented by Sheldon Wang for the MSU Rotaract Club: President Raissa Henderson, Vice President Tiarra Georges, Treasurer Wiltany Rolle, Senator Krishna Winston. They made a gracious addition to the Rotary Club and I am sure the future is in good hands.
Dr, Hartman introduced our well known former MSU president, Dr. Jessie Rodgers Sue Harrington and Deanna Watson. Birthdays were presented by Colton Heinrich and the ones that made the round trip one more time around the sun were: Greg Brownfield, Brycen Whitaker and Kenny Weeks.
There was not a sunshine report, and all is well. Shirley Craft made an announcement regarding Vibrant Club Initiative and to have a more active participation to bring this Club to the Forefront. To make this club once again the primier club in Wichita Falls. If you want to be a member of the premier club, you have to make it the club that all want to join.
Walter Coppage made a splash in the brag bucket and asked to contact your congressmen and get behind the schools’ safety program and protect our most important resources; all of our children.
The member spotlight was taken by the comments of Stacie Cook about the Vibrant Club and we all need to bring our “A” game to make this club to what it needs to be. Dr. David Hartman made an excellent presentation titled “Faith and Science” I cannot make this near as eloquent as our very own member presented to the attendees. Dr. Hartman always speaks so wisely and descriptive it makes this written dissertation look like a primer. We are all multiple things such as children, parents, teachers, leaders, mentors, and followers. We all need to follow faith and science to try and reach the truth. Socrates, Aristotle, Galileo, Newton, Einstein, all were looking for the truth and trying to attain it by proving the science. Today’s surgeons and doctors try and attain the truth thru Science and are looking for “why are things like they are”
Faith Presented by jovial Dr. Hartman who attended Oxford by way of the “Eagle and Child Pub” where most of his studies were done with a Shandy probably where truth was found. I think there are a couple of side stories for future programs. Faith was discussed in a book titled” A Severe Mercy” that made an impression on the presenter for its authors, that he personally knows, its content and message for our leader of the flock. Another quote “I believe in the end, truth will concur”. Dr. Dave brough many instances together for Faith and Science was seeking truth. I know I was looking for faith every time I took a test looking truth in my high school years. One of the best question I have ever heard was when Mr. Hartman brought a conversation with Dr. Rodgers while sitting next to a Nobel Prize winner and asked him a question “ What have you been thinking about lately” and I think the answer was “electromagnetism and the earth” Faith and Science have more in common that we realize, until we sit down and actually think about the different language of faith, the different language of science, of life’s unanswered questions and the laws that govern the universe and its miracles. We all search for the “light” of which God gave us as his first gift. We hope you all have a wonderful Easter weekend!
A book will be presented to Kirby Middle School on behalf of Dr. Hartman fantastic presentation.
And we parted with the Four-way test.
I have to apologize for the poor written report for an eloquently, profound delivery of a Nobel Prize winning quality presentation but was trying to keep it under 5,000 words. Forgive me I do not know what I am doing, I’m still learning to be human.
Until next week my friends
