Due to the uncertainty of meeting at Nicky's this week, President Bill has decided that this week's meeting will be conducted ONLY on Zoom. Our Zoom Host is Scott Thompson. Meeting link: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/7985707369
The 4-legged ladder:
Carl Robicheaux to explain estate planning
This week's program will feature one of our own, Carl Robicheaux. His program is titled: Simple Estate Planning - The Four Legs of the Ladder.
Carl Robicheaux
Carl was born and raised in South Louisiana. He graduated from Loyola Law School in New Orleans and is licensed to practice law in Colorado, Louisiana and Connecticut. Carl's vast experience in his varied legal career has spanned over 33 years. He has represented individuals and companies in small cases and multi-million dollar litigation.
Carl has worked as a solo practitioner and with a small, three-attorney law firm providing legal services to rural clients needing affordable and professional legal representation. He has also represented multi-national insurance companies and Fortune 500 companies in personal injury litigation.
After caring for his elderly mother Carl realized that individuals need a strong voice to help them through everyday legal issues. Carl moved to Estes Park and opened Elkhorn Law, devoting his practice to estate planning, probate, real estate, HOA law, elder law issues, business formation and governance. Carl also provides general legal counseling.
Carl is the Vice President and Treasurer of the Rotary Club of Estes Park Foundation. He also serves on the Board of Directors for the Estes Park Health Foundation and the Estes Chamber of Commerce.
Carl enjoys spending time with his wife, Aime, his 3 dogs, hiking, playing golf and attempting to fly fish (when his flies are in the river and not a tangled mess).

Update from President Bill Solms
Great program by our local school superintendent last Thursday! Thank you Rick and all who helped contact and schedule this speaker. What a quality managed program for all levels: pre-K to High School; our clubs are working on After Prom Night this week and your Board approved our usual annual commitment to this function organized by the Wednesday Evening Rotary Club.
I just heard this weekend that the kitchen at Nicky's was hit by a fire; I tried to contact John Thomason and left word for him to call me. Since I have not yet heard from him as of Sunday evening, I am changing our live meeting for February 11th to a purely Zoom meeting with Scott as our host. We will re-evaluate during the week and publish our decision in next week's Spoke as to how the February 18th meeting will be conducted. Please keep John and this incident in your thoughts during the week should an opportunity arise for us to be of help.
Lastly, plans for the Duck Race Festival continue to develop. We meet with participant organizations via Zoom on March 1st to instruct them on distributing Duck adoptions which will be completely electronic this year. During February we will finalize the poster/art for this year as well as our list of Major, Associate, and In Kind Sponsors. Also, I received a grant from the Town of Estes Park to assist with operating expenses. The software committee met last Thursday; Lee, Sandy, and Cassie are busy getting us prepared to instruct and inspire all the participating Non-Profits to get the best responses in distributing Duck Adoptions. Also, I learned what a "gif" (pronounced jiff) is; get ready to give me the definition, it might be on Spoke Trivia during our next meeting (Lee, Don, and Beth are not eligible if I choose this question!!).
Duck Race Committee meets Thursday the 11th at 5:00 pm via Zoom with Scott as our host.
Quackfully yours,
Prez Bill
