Mr. Varilek is the director of all the high school and middle school bands. Under his direction, the bands continue to win awards and place highly in state competitions. In addition to school events, the bands have entertained at various community programs. Most recently, the EPHS Jazz Band participated in the Rotary Cub sponsored "It's Showtime," a program to raise money for high school scholarships.
The selections in Thursday's program are chosen to demonstrate the high degree of professionalism and accomplishment in the musical training and studies of our high school musicians.
In addition to working with students, Mr. Varilek has been very active in the Estes Park community directing local music groups such as The Estes Park Village Band and the Estes Park Jazz Big Band.
