Rotary Club Awards Scholarships

 

Four graduating seniors, class of 2013, of Hingham High School were recognized as outstanding young citizens – scholars who also contributed to their school and residential communities.

Rachel Allen, Brittany Collins, Hope McDonald and Andrew Ricciardelli were recognized.

Scholarship stipend funds were awarded by the Rotary club of Hingham and Hull, Inc. for their academic achievement, volunteer service to their schools, communities and others in need.  And also for their display of industry by working part-time during the school year and full- time jobs during the summer.

TheseSERVICE ABOVE SELF” awards have been given by given by the Rotary Club for more than past twenty years.

School grades, class standing, and standardized tests represent the scholastic ability or achievement. The applicant’s record of leadership, demonstration of good citizenship and service to others, good sportsmanship, and initiative are among the pre-requisites.  The extracurricular activity record, both in the school and in the community is an important element of evaluation.
