Invocation:
Doug Dotterer offered a sensitive invocation after the pledge.

Guest Announcer:
Anne Hanson was our announcer this morning and featured a story about a chicken who went into a library and took books to his friend, the frog.  Ask her about it!    She thanked Dan Mazzola and Jeremy Michaels for getting us checked in.  There were no fines today but we sang happy birthday to Bob Oborn and Marv Mills.  Mayor Drew led us in the singing.  She also drew a 4 of diamonds in the raffle, so the pot will continue to grow.  We were glad to see Linda Trevorrow, even if she was last in.

Visitors:
Tom Bahr, Allen Mangus and Anne Malthaner were our guests this morning.

Clipboard Announcements:
Dave Renninger reminded us to sign up for the Foodbank on October 7th.

Christina Gary told us that over $1000 worth of tickets were sold at the Summer Sunset Blast for our Super Baskets.  She said that she and Annette have tickets available for purchase.  They are $5.00 each or 5 for $20.00.  See them for tickets and designate on the back whether you want your ticket put in the Browns basket or the technology basket.

Katie Wright circulated a clipboard for those interested in working in a school for Rotary Reads. You may designate your school of interest.

Bob Oborn said that our Interact visits will begin next Monday and he circulated a clipboard for us to sign up for that.

Other Announcements:

Bob also encouraged us to take Reverse Raffle tickets for us to sell to others.  There will only be 150 sold with over half of them gone so far. Each ticket is $125 and that includes dinner for 2.  Date is Oct. 14th in the evening so we will not meet at the club that morning.

Congratulations to Amber Zibritosky for her victory in the primary election.

Pat Messmore is ill this morning so we will learn the Football Pool results next week.

New badges have arrived for those people whose badges still listed our club as Stow instead of Stow-Munroe Falls.  If you would like to have your old badge as a souvenir, see Andy.

We are still in need of people who could help with the weekly newsletter and also get information regularly to the Stow Sentry.  Contact Andy if you are interested.  This is a real chance to follow this year's theme and share your gifts with the world.

People who are on the Website committee should wait for further word as far as the scheduled Sept. 15th meeting.  It may have to be rescheduled.

Board meeting is this Friday at 7:15 at Silver Lake Country Club.

The flier for the district's One Rotary Summit for October 17th is attached.  Plan to attend if you can.

Program:
Dave Renninger, as chair of the Library Board of Directors introduced Doug Dotterer, Director and Ann Malthaner, Marketing and Public Relations of the Stow-Munroe Falls Library.  Our library has been named one of the 3 best in the country by the Knight Foundation.  Through the SMFL, each card holder has access to 16 million items.  It has the fastest WiFi of any library in Ohio and circulated 830,309 items in 2014.  Their newsletter is e-mailed to 15,500 individuals.  Sign up to receive it at www.smfpl.org.  That is a great way to find out about computer classes and all of the other activities going on.  Did you know that you can get help with electronic devices on Tech Tuesdays and take other classes to learn about various computer programs?  Did you know that there is a Homebound Service and that there is free coffee from 9a.m. to 1:00 p.m.?  Did you know that the Friends of the Library have raised $333,500  in their used book sales since 2001?  Did you know that the drive-through window can have your materials waiting for you if you call ahead?  We learned so much more from the presentation and found yet another reason to be proud that we live in the Stow-Munroe Falls Community.

Have a great week!
