Laura Hunsicker, President of the 1 in 6 Foundation was our Speaker last week. She shared lots of good information. Laura explained that men must have their PSA test in order to find any trace of the disease so that it can be treated early.  Prostate cancer used to be looked at as an "old man's disease" but that is true no longer.  Men should be tested by age 40.  The number one cancer killer of men is lung cancer but prostate cancer is number 2.  Genetic testing is also very important.  

 

The One in Six Foundation funds research and has raised close to $900,000 which has been a part of funding 3 clinical trials.
