President Bob Sweitzer opened the meeting by leading in the Pledge of Allegiance. Carrie Malotte, Program Host followed with the invocation.
PROGRAM:
Carrie worked with us this morning on understanding how to use Clubrunner, now also known as Nova, for our Rotary communications. She also pointed out the advantages of using the Clubrunner app on our phones. To begin, google Rotary Club of Stow Munroe Falls and hit search. You will be taken to the site. Above the logo, Unite for Good, you will see member login. Click on that. On the next screen, enter your login information. Your username is: Firstname.lastname.5221 which is our club's number. (Andrea.Denton.5221) Your initial password will be 5221, but you will be asked to create a new password. You will also be asked to enter a verification code that will be sent to you as a second means of security. After entering that, hitting log-in should take you to a screen that says Welcome to Nova. Scroll down to see the many options that are available. Or, go to the black tab on the left and click o the 3 vertical lines (the hamburger) to see the many choices of what you can do on this site.
Carrie had us scroll to the Communication tab to explore how to send an e-mail to the club. By hitting send e-mail, a screen pops up that basically walks you through what to do. Give the message a subject and then move down to where you are instructed to start typing content. The symbols at the top of the body of the e-mail are basically the same as the symbols in Word and will help you format your message. If you want to add an attachment, scroll down below the body of the e-mail where it says “Select files for upload”. Click on that box and then select the file from your computer that you want to upload. Click on that and you should see it appear.
When you are finished with your message, look at the upper right of your screen. There you will have choices like save and exit, send to myself and send. If you make the save and exit choice, you can complete the e-mail and save it to send later. To pick up that e-mail and send it later, go back to the screen with the Communication tab and find E-mail services. Click on that. On the next screen, find the gray box under Actions that matches your item and click on open. You would use the send to myself e-mail if you wanted to see how the e-mail is going to look when you send it. When you are ready to send the e-mail, click on Add Recipients Lists so that you can make choices about whether to send to all members or to make a custom list. When your list is what you want, the send button should send your e-mail and you will get a message that tells you that you are done. Realize that through Clubrunner, you can not only send something to the whole club, but that you can send something to one or more individuals.
We also learned how to manage our own membership information. Start back at the Nova screen where you picked up the Communication information above and click on Membership. Go to your membership information. Click on the view button to the right of your picture. That will enable you to then use the edit feature to update any of your information. Just be sure that if you change anything, you hit the save button when you are finished. Check yours to make sure what is there is correct. Also, it is good to explore the choices under your information so that you an make it specific to you. Under privacy and settings you can control certain aspects of what is available to others.
Downloading the Clubrunner app on your phone is a great way to access quick communication with club members and to find out current information as to what is going on with our club and within the district at large. Use the Using the Clubrunner feature on a laptop or PC is a way to communicate with the whole club.
