After President Gail Moseley opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, Mark Ferguson, Program Host followed with the invocation. Gail then welcomed our speaker, Diane Wantz and thanked Steve Dunton and Dave Renninger for getting us checked in this morning.

Rotary Anniversaries: Brad Ruth (24), Don Coughlin (23) and Rich Bedell (13) are all observing their indicated number of years as Rotarians this week.

Board Meeting will be this Friday, March 10, at 7:15 at City Hall. Minutes of the February meeting are attached to these minutes.
Next Week's Meeting will be a Club Assembly. One of the items of business will be to vote on new board members.
Foodbank Volunteer Time will be Wednesday, March 22 from 4:30 to 6:30 at the Foodbank. Sign up as you sign in.
Bunny Trail Hop: Volunteers are needed to help staff our club's booth at this community event on April 1 from 10:00-1:00 at Silver Springs Park. Sign up as you sign in.
Golf Outing: Scott Miller reported on progress for the June 16 event. He said that the first sponsorship is from Tom Loepp and thanked him. Forms that were sent out previously are attached to these minutes....a save the date card, a sponsorship form and a sponsorship letter. Make your contacts now. The committee will be meeting again on the 16th.
Bulldog Bags: Contributions needed from us by April 12 are: Soup cups, mini bags of pretzels, bars of soap, 24 or 32 oz. jars of pasta sauce and 1 lb. box of pasta. Your donations can be brought to the meetings or dropped off in the lobby of City Hall or at the library.
PROGRAM: Mark Ferguson then introduced Diane Wantz, the Deputy Regional Coordinator for Project Healing Waters Fly Fishing Midwest region. In addition Diane is the Program Lead for the Project Healing Waters Willoughby Program. She also works full time at Orvis as their Fishing Lead.
The program is for the benefit of disabled veterans under the premise that "Fly Fishing Heals". It is dedicated to both the physical and mental rehabilitation of veterans through 230 programs in 48 states, all at no cost to the participants. Volunteers who work with the veterans are the heart of the program.
There are five basic components of the continuum of care in the healing process and retraining of the damaged brain. Fly-tying is very focused, and an opportunity to create joy through success. Rod-building calls the need for carrying out organized tasks and then the possibility of succeeding in competition. Casting is generally the most therapeutic and requires following steps. Education is repeated during the 12 month curriculum. And finally the other four create excitement about outings which may be for the day, overnight or to a destination. Bozeman, Montana and Muskegon, Michigan are two of the premier destinations.
Remember that there is no cost to anyone involved in the various toward healing. In addition, everything received is paid forward. If one chapter receives a donation that they cannot use, it is shared with another. In summary, this is done to aid in creating a healthy community. And really, it is not only about the fishing, it is about the contacts.
