THIS FRIDAY: Board Meeting Friday 7:15AM

INTRODUCTION OF SPEAKER- John Prusa… he skipped his member moment and provided our Superintendent Tom Bratten with a great description of our Rotary Club and some history about us. He reviewed with everyone accomplishments and donations of some Rotarians over the years to our school system. Some contributed to a lot of the concessions, and stadium, and things around our that our students still use today.  He also reviewed things we are currently supporting such as Rotary Reads, and Speech & Debate sponsorships, as well as the Senior Achievement Awards Banquet.  School system represents our community, therefore as Rotarians it shall be noted that we take care of it.  He also talked a bit about Fred Bonacci. He is a wonderful part of the community and is currently on School Board, up for re-election.

GUEST SPEAKER 1: Fred spoke about the hiring of superintendent Tom Bratten and how there were 60 applicants for the position.  The board voted him in 5/0 which is great. He also talked about how the flow of the school board has been better than in the past and they are looking forward to working with Mr. Bratten.

SPEAKER 2: Tom Bratten, our Superintendent has been a Rotarian since 1987.  He is from Salem Ohio, and he appreciates what we do. Tom released about 3 weeks ago a strategic plan for the summer for the school district.  (attached) Talked to us about some arrangements to move the central office down to city hall. City of Green is a good one to shadow as they combined. Hired a Human Resources Director recently. High school Principal Chris DeMauro will be taking over that position and we are looking for a new principal to fill that position. They are looking to launch Bulldogs Online so that we can retain some of the finances within the school district for students who want to attend school online.  He then stayed after and answered questions.
