Fellow Stow - Munroe Falls Rotarians;Please help us to find host families in the area to provide a great experience for Luciana Ortiz Anci (Lu) for the remainder of the school year. This information is from Susan Colville-Hall and your help is needed.I am again actively involved in the Rotary Club of Akron’s exchange program and am reaching out to you because you have members who live in Stow and know possible host families. Our Akron Rotary exchange student this year is Luciana Ortiz Anci from Peru. She goes by Lu for short! She’s really exceptional. Totally bilingual and lovely as well. And she has many interests. Lu's current Stow host family is Rachael and Jacinto Nunez. Their son Manny was an exchange student to S. Korea three years ago. They had previously hosted students from Japan, Spain and Thailand and support the exchange program whole heartedly. But as a club, we must have three different families for the duration of the exchange to give the visiting student a truer picture of American culture as not all families are alike. We have not secured Lu a host family for the winter duration, January - March 20 nor the 3rd host family for March 21 to June 30. This is where your help would come in and be greatly appreciated. If you have names of families, especially (but not exclusively) those with young people, please send them to me as soon as possible so I can follow up and locate a host family for Lu. And don’t forget to inform any interested 15-18 year old that the Rotary program is available, long-term and short-term. I would be happy to get the information to a local candidate. It’s still a fabulous program. Any help on your part will be greatly appreciated.
