Brad Jagger told us to be sure to attend the junior class play, “Vintage Hitchcock” at the high school this weekend.  His daughter is part of the cast.  His other daughter as a freshman made it to the speech and debate semi-finals.  He’s a proud papa.

Did you know that the cost of breakfast at the club includes tax and tip?
The District Conference for Rotary will be on April 24th-26th. The meeting will be combined with a training assembly.  Interact and RYLA will give a presentation Saturday noon and a Memorial Service will be held on Sunday.  Watch for further information.
Mark Lucco discussed the Golf Outing with us.  The date for the outing is June 6th.  Lists for sponsorship and other type of assistance were circulated and club members are asked to help.  There will be a meeting of the committee this Friday, February 27th at Bob Evans.
It appears that the club will be helping with beer service at Rockin’ on the River in Lorain the evening of June 13th from 6:00-11:00 p.m.  We will need 30-35 people so recruit family members, potential members and neighbors now.  More details will follow from Pat Messmore but the entertainment will be by The Michael Stanley Band.

Member Moment:  Jim Stewart grew up in Streetsboro on a small farm.  His Mother was a teacher and his Dad was a barber so there were lots of eye on him as a child.  He moved 22 times as an adult but now has lived in his present home for 17 years.
Program:  Jim introduced Chuck Hurst from the Akron chapter of SCORE (Service Corps of Retired Executives) who gave us a very interesting presentation.  There are 300 chapters of SCORE nationwide with over 11,000 volunteers.  Their purpose is to assist people who want to be entrepreneurs.  They do this through counseling, workshops and one-on-one assistance.  The Akron chapter serves, Portage, Summit, Media and Wayne counties.  They get a major part of their funding through grants.  Services are free of charge for those wanting to open a business or strengthen the business they already operate.  Most of their operations occur at the Taylor Institute of the University of Akron which is located in the Polsky Building.  They are always looking for more volunteers.  Anyone who is interested can contact SCORE at 330-379-3163.
