After Co-President,Steve Dunton opened the meeting with the Pledge of Allegiance, Dick Hall gave a meaningful invocation. Steve then thanked Todd Hearty and Dave Renninger for checking us in this morning and welcoming our visitors, Savannah Riegsecker, Todd Remenaric, Tim Rennel, Jonny Shuttleworth and Mary Jane Stanchina. Eric Weber and Roger Cline were welcome back after we haven't seen them for a while.
PROGRAM:
Steve then turned the program over to Dick Hall, Chairperson of Career Tech Month. He welcomed Mary Jane Stanchina, who is the Executive Director of the Six District Compact serving, Cuyahoga Falls, Hudson, Kent, Stow-Munroe Falls. Tallmadge and Woodridge. She thanked the club for their support of the program and the community. Today's topic was the Aeronautic Program housed at Stow-Munroe Falls High School. It is a one of a kind program in the state and operates in tandem with Kent State University.
Tim Renner, who is the Career Tech Administrator at the high school introduced Todd Remenaric, who has been the program's instructor for 6 years. He has his private pilot's license and also his Remote Pilot license for operating drones. His goal is to help students figure out what they want to do and how to get there. This is accomplished through learning about air traffic control, airport management, aerospace engineering, airplane mechanics and being a pilot or remote pilot, operating drones.
Students in the program spend 1/2 of each day at Stow and the other part of the day at their home school. While at Stow, both their English and math classes operate with an aeronautics relationship. Two students, Savannah Ricgsecker and Jonny Shuttleworth expressed their appreciation of the opportunity. In general, students need to have a 2.5 GPA, a good attendance record and a passion for the field.
HAPPY BUCKS:
Don Coughlin told us that his grandson, Joe Coughlin was married to Camille Renner in January in Florida. Don and Ellen were unable to attend, but they were grateful for live streaming that enabled them to watch.
Don also said that two of his grandsons, Will and Michael, who play hockey for Babson College scored three goals in the same game, leading them to victory. Will will have a summer internship with the Bank of Canada but will be working in Texas.

CELEBRATIONS:
Rotary Anniversary: Pat Messmore is observing 22 years as a Rotarian this week.
Birthday: If you see Bonnie Housley, wish her Happy Birthday.
Drawing: Dave Christman had the winning ticket but drew the Queen of diamonds. The pot will continue to grow.
ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Membership Recruitment Event: Brad Ruth reminded everyone that this event will take place tomorrow evening at the VFW on Fishcreek. Registration starts at 6:00 with food, an introduction to Rotary and Trivia to follow.
Board Meeting: Our board will meet this Friday at 7:15 a.m. at City Hall.
Teacher Supply Cupboard: Dave Christman told us that drivers will be needed after next week's meeting to deliver supplies to the schools.
Foodbank: Our next volunteer time at the Foodbank will be March 12 from 4:30-6:30.
District Governor Elect: Annette Oborn explained that Bob, her husband is at the International Assembly in Florida this week with District Governors Elect from all over the world. He sent an e-mail yesterday explaining that the next year's theme will be "Unite For Good"
Shoes4Souls: Annette also brought word that District 6630, our district is $1300 ahead in the friendly rivalry among districts for the Shoes4Souls campaign where $20 will buy a pair of shoes for a needy child in our area. Coffee Drive: The collection drive of coffee for the Haven of Rest will close on Sunday, February 16. Deliver your donation to the Oborns at 381 Silver Valley Blvd., Munroe Falls, OH 44262 or contact Annette to make arrangements to have your donation picked up. Amazon will be glad to deliver your order to them. The goal is 300 cans and as of this morning 230 had been donated. See if we can make this happen!
Steve led us in the Rotary Four-Way Test to end the meeting.
