SPEAKER: Christine Croce shared with us, the severity of the Heroine issue that is coming to be more common than we would think. She passed out information showing us the poisoning rate for Summit County and Ohio for Heroine and prescription drug abuse, and opiates. Half of prison population, is due to drug offenses. There is an increase for females in prison recent years because of the sentencing of these offenses. They are trying to come up with more treatment in lieu of correctional facility. The goal is to get them sober, and back into the community. We are blessed in Summit County vs more rural counties for the services we do have in place.
