Co-President, Brad Ruth opened the meeting this morning with the Pledge of Allegiance.  Tom Bahr, Program Host, led us in an interesting invocation.

Brad thanked Gail Moseley and Steve Dunton for getting us checked in this morning.

CELEBRATIONS:
Rotary Anniversary:  Jeff Film has been a Rotarian for 7 years as of Friday.

CONCERN:
Annette Oborn gave an update on husband, Bob.  He is doing better, does PT and is walking regularly.  He will still have the IV drip for his infection for about another 5 weeks.  Annette has learned to do all sorts of medical procedures to assist him in his recovery.  Send Bob an e-mail at boborn@kentelastomer.com.

Attendance was low today. Hopefully everyone is on vacation and doing well.  Know that you are missed when you are not with us.

RAFFLE DRAWING:  Ray Evans' table had the winning number but drew the 2 of diamonds, so we still have a chance to win.

ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Stuff the Bus:  Carrie Leising said that she still needs volunteers for 4-6 on Friday and during the day on Saturday when the times are 10:00 until 4:00.   Contact her at cleising23@gmail.com to let her know you can help.  She gave directions for the volunteers.  Wear Rotary shirts and go to Target at your assigned time.  You will be handing out a list of items and asking people to purchase them.  When they return the items to the table, you will take them to the bus.  There will be some people who will want to make a donation instead of purchasing the items.  At 4:30 on Saturday the items will be taken to Council Chambers at City Hall and then on Sunday morning the items will be organized.

Foodbank:  Tonight from 4:30 to 6:30 is our Foodbank volunteer time.  Contact Mary Dula at 330-725-6358 if you find you can help.

Football Pool Books: There are only about 10 left, so get yours now.  Contact Pat Messmore at pat@messmoreagency.com if you want him to save you some.  Cost is $20.00.

Interact:  John Pribonic expressed his thanks for the students' help in moving Stow-Glen residents last Saturday.  Their Advisor, Dinah Henderson is on vacation this week but she is working on creating a welcome basket for the relocated residents.

PROGRAM:
Program Host, Tom Bahr, first told what he did during COVID.  He told us that two granddaughters became engaged, a grandson moved back here from Texas and he sold his house and moved to Vitalia.  (Too bad nothing was happening in your life, Tom.)

Tom then introduced Nathan Leppo, Director of Planning and Development for the City of Stow.  Although he has only been on the job for five weeks, he has had past experience in both the private and public sectors.  He grew up in Stow and married his high school sweetheart and is a 2001 graduate of Stow-Munroe Falls High School.  He then went to The Ohio State University where he ultimately earned a Masters Degree in City and Regional Planning.

His office has responsibility for planning, zoning and economic development.  He said that this year everyone wants a pool and or a deck, so issuing permits for those have been a major task.  There have been numerous complaints about people not cutting their grass.

Nate feels good about the 200 million dollar development on Seasons Rd. That is a perfect trucking corridor that can support a strong level of business.  One business is coming into Stow with a 34 1/2 million dollar payroll but the name of the business has not yet been disclosed.

When asked about the Stow-Glen property, he said there have been multiple inquiries into the site.  At this point it is zoned for general business.  Every type of zoning has specific codes that must be followed.  We are a diverse enough city that one building leaving does not destroy the city, as has happened in some places.

In talking about the downtown development, the Mayor added that events around the City Hall site are hopefully letting people become acclimated to being there.  Then as the playground is redone, more activities can be planned and that should hopefully encourage some private businesses to come into the area.

JOKE:  Bill Choler's joke was postponed until next week.
