The following Rotarians helped and completed the task in less than an hour. They were: Dave Christman, Dick Hall, Julie McLain, Ed Green, Denise Green, John Pribonic, Cyle Feldman and Dinah Henderson.
After the Stow-Nut Donut Fire: There are several ways that people can help the Greens after their tragic fire last Wednesday. They want to reopen as soon as possible. There is a

You can also send a check made out to the club to PO Box 1352, Stow, OH 44224. Please put fire in the memo line. Also, Young's T-Shirts has made Stow-Nut Donut t-shirts that are available for $10.00.
School Supplies: And this Saturday from 10:00-3:00 go to the high school for lots of fun and to help a project. Bingo, Pickleball, a dunk tank, a bus pull, food and fun, will all benefit the students of Stow. All 5200 students will find a container of school supplies on their desk the first day of school, thanks to this effort.
Meeting Place Move: At the board meeting last week, it was decided that the club will move to The Center (formerly Stow Youth Baseball) the beginning of October. More information will follow as the plan develops, but if you read the attached board minutes, you will find more information. Questions or concerns should go to our presidents.
PROGRAM: Rotarian Pat Messmore introduced himself by saying that one of his favorite memories was starting the Dictionary Project the year that he was president. He now works in the field of Medicare and presented a program about interesting and helpful information about that topic.
The types of Medicare, according to Pat are basically alphabet soup. Medicare A is held by person who pays into Social Security for at least 40 quarters. They receive Medicare at no additional cost for things like hospitalization or "anything with a bed" There is also Part B where a person who does not have the 40 quarters, pays into Medicare. For Part C, people have an Advantage Plan or a Supplement. An Advantage Plan is where Medicare covers claims but the individual pays co-pays. It is more of a pay-as-you-go plan. A Medicare Supplement is when the individual carries a plan in addition to Medicare. With the supplement, what Medicare doesn't cover, the supplement does. Vision and dental are extra plans with a supplement while they are included with an Advantage Plan.
Some of the biggest changes that have already happened and will be happening next year involve prescription drug plans. Already, Insulin has a cap of $35. per month and other prescription charges may change with the new year. One reason for this is that Medicare is cutting down on some of the perks that providers have been receiving. Pat stressed the importance of working with a local person, rather than someone at an 800 number, to establish the plan that works best for each person, because of the continuity of discussions. The dates for 2024 for deciding on a plan for the following year will be from October 15 through December 7.
Steve closed the meeting by leading us in the Four Way Test.
