CELEBRATIONS:
Rotary Anniversaries Shannon Sinex (8), Chris DiMauro (5) and Annette Oborn (5) are celebrating their Rotary anniversaries this week.
Happy Buck: Marty Tass presented the club an exchange banner from the North Fort Myers, Florida club.
DRAWING: Noah drew the winning ticket from the Coughlin table but the 8 of hearts was drawn.

Foodbank: This is our volunteer night at the Foodbank from 5:00-7:00 pm.
Community Showcase: This weekend is Community Showcase, so remember to be there if you have signed up to work a shift on Saturday or Sunday. Our booth is #43.
Interact Banquet: Annie Hanson told us that the dinner to honor the achievements of Interact students will be held on April 17 at Silver Lake Country Club at 6:00 p.m. There is no cost to Rotarians or to the Interact guests. Annie passed around a sign-up sheet. If you have not signed up but can attend, please contact Annie right away at achanson129@gmail.com. Also let her know about any dietary restrictions as we will be served plated meals. Roger Cram will be the speaker talking about Random Acts of Kindness. Those who have heard him say that he is an excellent speaker.
Cooking for Ronald McDonald House: Annette told us that our next date to cook for Ronald McDonald House will be April 25. If you can help, let Annette know at aoborn@att.net.
District Conference: Annie encouraged us to attend the conference which will be held the weekend of April 27 in Beachwood. She explained that the events are ala carte and we can choose to attend for one hour or all three days. She can help with registration if you need her to. Go to the district website, www.rotarydistrict6630.org for more information. This is a great way to feel part of the larger Rotary scene. Saturday, April 28would be the best single day to attend.
Interact Talent Show: Annette also told us that May 11 is the Interact Talent Show and we need to have a couple of judges. If you are interested, contact her at aoborn@att.net. We also are asked to donate $10.00 gift cards as prizes.
Rubber Ducks Game: Jeff Film told us that this is the last date to sign up for Rubber Duck tickets for the July 21 game. The $13.00 ticket includes the game and ballgame supper. Contact him at jfilm706@gmail.comright away if you are interested.
Golf Outing: Ray Evans reminded us of the Golf Outing which will be held on June 4 at Silver Lake. He has been contacting last year's Tee Sponsors and many have agreed to be a sponsor again. If you or someone you know might be interested in a sponsorship, contact Ray at raypsu@aol.com. The committee is also looking for one or two people to be the sponsor for the box lunches. Again, contact Ray if you are able to do that or know someone who might be interested.
Christina Gary also talked about the Golf Outing and said that the registration forms will be ready for this weekend's Community Showcase. She also explained that this year there will be free golf associated with different levels of sponsorship. Watch for an e-mail giving details and a registration form. PROGRAM:
Steve Dunton introduced his brother Mike Dunton by telling us that he has been a firefighter for many years, ending as Fire Marshall for Cuyahoga Falls.
Mike gave us interesting information about New Zealand and the Rotary clubs he has visited there. New Zealand is a two-island nation which can be reached after a 12-hour flight from San Francisco. 4,700,000 people live there accompanied by 30,000,000 sheep. The majority of the people speak English but the official language is Maori, the official language in honor of their indigenous people.
The Rotary Club in the North Island has over a million dollars in the bank but only has 10-12 people at their meetings. They only have 2 females as part of their membership. The South Island Club has many female members and is fundraising regularly. Both clubs are focused on taking care of the people there. Mike exchanged banners with both of the clubs. He plans to return in May.
