ANNOUNCEMENTS:
Cereal Box Challenge:  Annie Hanson Hilaire could not be with us this morning but sent word that we need to step up our individual serving cereal  donations as we only have until the end of April to try to be the winners in our competition with the Kent Clubs (one in the state of Washington) to assist our respective food insecurity programs.  Donations can be sent to Annie's home .... through Amazon or in person.....at 1673 23rd St., Cuyahoga Falls, OH 44223.  Donations can also be delivered to the container at the main lobby of City Hall.  Dinah Henderson said that in support of our club and the competition, Interact is participating in a two-week cereal challenge and is collecting cereal donations at the high school.

Golf Outing:  Dick Hall said that the planning for the June 7 golf outing is on schedule.  People need to pay for the signs they have ordered or request registration forms for their foursomes.  Contact Dick at dickhall2@gmail.com or at 330-328-2776.

The District Conference  is this week Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  It is virtual and there is no charge.  If you are interested in attending, contact Linda at ltrevorrow@bti-cpas.com and she will give you the link to register.  It is possible to just tune in when you are able or when there is something of particular interest to you.  Dinah Henderson said that our Interact Club has made a video for the Interact celebration.  That part of the conference will be Saturday between 11:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m.  Dinah also proudly showed off her t-shirt that she received for early registration.

Breakfast Donations:  If you still wish to participate in donating the money you would have spent for breakfast at Silver Lake to our donation fund, send your check to Annette Oborn, Treasurer, 381 Silver Valley Blvd, Munroe Falls, OH 44262.  Last month our donations were combined for February and March so that both the Akron Canton Foodbank and Bulldog Bags each received checks for $550.  The final third of the donations went to club special projects.  For April, Annette has received $500 so far.

PROGRAM: Amanda, our program host, explained that since her mother-in-law's diagnosis of bladder cancer they have been doing their best to research the topic, walk in encouragement and to be thankful for the new friendships they are making with the medical community.

She then introduced, Tom Nolan who is the COO of TCT Ministries and who also is the president-elect for the Cuyahoga Falls Rotary Club.  He began by sharing with the club that Amanda was the best employee he ever hired.  An example he used was that one week before the grand opening they had not booked the people they needed for the shows.  But within that short time, Amanda booked everyone they wanted.

The station was started by Tom's grandparents in 1977 who recognized the need for Christian TV.  Since then it has expanded to 23 states through the country. They serve 2 million households nationally and are ranked among the top in Christian TV, reaching both children and adults  with their programs.  Funding comes from non-profit donations and some commercials.

Although the COVID crisis has forced them to curtail some of their operations, they were considered as an essential business so some of their programming could continue.  The three main programs that they still produce daily are: "TCT Today" which is a news show with guests;  "Prayer on Purpose" which supports a 24-hour prayer line; and "Ask the Pastors" which hosts a diverse group of clergy who discuss questions about the Bible and other topics.

In Akron, they have space for 25 employees but at this point have 5 openings.  They are located across from Chapel Hill Mall on Brittain Rd. and would welcome anyone who wants to tour the operation.

JOKE:  Today's joke was by Milli Morrison who told about a ship's captain who wanted to wear certain clothing for certain enemy-attack situations.  Ask Milli to tell you the rest of the joke.

Next week the joke will be by Steve Stimmel.

Linda sent us out into the snow!  Anyone make a snowman?
