Medina Rotary Club’s Kelly Low, a driving force behind the memorial, said she expects as many as 300 people could attend the July 28 unveiling ceremony at Medina Fire Station 1, 300 W. Reagan Parkway.
“Our beam will be a visible reminder of what happened that day (on 9/11),” Low said. “People will be coming to Medina to see it.”
The 9-foot, 2-ton steel beam from the North Tower of the World Trade Center was delivered to the site in Medina..
Two steel towers also were set in place and represent the center’s Twin Towers destroyed in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001.
