September always seems to arrive with a change in rhythm. Across our community, children and young people (and teachers!) are heading back to school, from those taking their first steps into elementary classrooms to students beginning another year of high school or university. At the same time, mums are beginning to dot neighborhood porches, and the Carp Fair is nearly here. All the signs are telling us that autumn is just around the corner!
Dwight and I had a nice time at the Kanata 55+ Expo on Thursday. It was busier than expected and it was a great reminder that we need to be present at these kinds of community events.
ROK will also be manning a table at the Rotary Village during Ukrainian Fest on Sunday, September 13, at Riverside Park in Carleton Place. Feel free to stop by... and have a pierogi or two.
Later this month, I will be attending the 2026 Rotary Zone Institute in Cancún, Mexico. I am looking forward to meeting Rotarians from across our Zones, exchanging ideas, and learning all the Rotary things. I hope to return with plenty of useful insights and inspiration to share.
Hope you all have a great week! Enjoy the resources and updates below.

End Polio Now
Join a Polio Immunization Trip to India
Rotarians from the Rotary Club of Agra Tajmahal have announced two National Immunization Day campaigns in October 2026 and March 2027.
This is a unique opportunity for Rotarians to visit India, administer two lifesaving drops of the polio vaccine to children, and witness firsthand the remarkable progress Rotary members in India have made in the fight against polio.
It is a truly inspiring experience that celebrates Rotary’s enduring commitment to a polio-free world and the End Polio Now campaign.
