This past Weds. our Rotary club took a field trip to the In-Step with Horses Training Facility located at 7212 Wilson Mills Rd. in Chesterland.  What a beautifully maintained barn and grounds!   Our club has chosen to heavily support this organization due to all the wonderful equine assisted therapy they offer to a wide variety of children and adults who are developmentally disabled, veterans with post traumatic syndrome or to any child or adult struggling with other mental health challenges.  Horses can be more effective than traditional therapy held in an office with a counselor.  There is something relaxing and healing being around these big animals that helps to reduce stress and increase self-esteem and confidence.  Our Rotary club is hoping to help purchase another therapy horse through the procurement of a Rotary District Grant in the amount of approx. $7,600.  Thank you for all the incredible work that this organization is doing to help so many children and adults in Geauga County heal from their mental health trauma!

Clinical Director and Master's Certificate in Equine Assisted Mental Health, Sarah Swiger welcomes the Rotary Club and answers questions on the work they do at In-Step with Horses facility.
