West Geauga School Superintendent Dr. Nancy Benincasa was our guest speaker this morning. She gave us an excellent overview of the current status of the WG school system which is currently ranked in the top 12 out of 864 high schools in the state of Ohio! Wow! She explained the myriad of courses, programs, and other activities offered as well as the upcoming levy that will be placed on the ballot this November. The program is in very good overall scholastic and financial shape. WestG Treasurer/CFO Karen Pavlat was also in attandence to address any fiscal questions. Parents can be proud and excited with the new innovative courses offered and individualized approach to educating their children. In addition, Dr. Benincasa recognizes the importance of having the support of our Rotary Club with regard to the Literacy programs offered in the school i.e. - 3rd grade dictionary project and Power of the Pen program. Our club is also interested in assisting the school implement a required speech or debate class in the 9th grade. It was good to hear from the Superintendent and be reassured that parents are receiving quality services for their taxpayer dollars! Thank you, Nancy, for coming to our meeting this morning. We are thankful for our long-term relationship with the West Geauga schools and look forward our ongoing partnership with you and your staff to continue the traditions in place and creating new opportunities in the future!
