Ryan Berdis, West Geauga HS Interact President attended our morning meeting to bring our club up to speed on the myriad activities and projects his club is engaged in and planning at this time! It was amazing to hear about the breadth and scope of the service projects and the diversity of organizations they are actively trying to support through raising awareness and funds for these various groups. Some of the projects are school-related efforts, such as collecting recyclable waste at the school and bringing it the Chester Twp. Recycle Center., separating out aluminum cans from the recyclable waste specifically for ABC (Aluminum Cans for Burned Children) to help burned victims, stocking a school supply closet for teachers to utilize throughout the year when a student needs something so it doesn't have to come out of the teacher's pocket; putting together baskets for children who are removed from home by Child Protection so they have an emergency backpack of age-appropriate personal items they will need to make the transition to foster care easier; spend a day at a local nursing home engaging the seniors to participate in arts and crafts or other appropriate recreational opportunities, and many more worthwhile projects!
