The Burton-Middlefield Maple Splash Festival was a huge success Saturday at Century Village Museum in Burton. There were live bands, food trucks and plenty of local organizations and non-profits present all in support of Rotary and their communities all across Geauga County. Congratulations to the Burton-Middlefield club for all their hard work and efforts. A special shout out to Larry and Sue Fox & Kathy and Craig Vatty for their collective countless hours throughout the year to make that day memorable. The weather was nearly prefect which made the turn out even better. Some estimated about 1,500 people were in attendance throughout the day from 2-9pm. Our Geauga West Rotary club assisted with the kids games. There were two bouncy houses and several fun games the kids could play and win prizes for their skills. The giant velcro target was a big attraction and the kids couldn't stop kicking and throwing velcro balls that would stick to the over-sized target. Seen in the one picture are Rotarians Mike Talty and Ed Slane attempting to get the balls off the bullseye target. Despite Ed being about 6'5" tall, even he needed a ladder to get the balls stuck at the top!
