RYLA (Rotary Youth Leadership Awards) is a 5 day leadership training camp, which focuses on personal and professional development of high school students. Rotary clubs throughout the world are committed to helping shape the leadership skills of today’s youth. Camp RYLA is one way Rotarians achieve this goal. Cardinal High School Seniors Sabrina Clinger and Jenna Osborne shared their experience from the 2022 RYLA held at Baldwin Wallace University this past June.
The students shared the daily schedule which began with breakfast followed by attending speaker sessions. The afternoons were contained with speaker sessions, educational activities, and discussion groups. During the evenings they participated in social events that allowed them to interact with other students. They we able to share their experiences of being from a small town school with students from larger city schools. During the time at RYLA they learned how to use Teamwork, Communication & “Consensus Building” by working with the other students that as they faced the week’s challenges together.
