R.Y.L.A. Students

There are many young people in attendance at today’s meeting. Two of them are our student guests, Allison Baird and Isiah Ingram.  Ms. Baird is active in her school and hopes to attend N.Y.U.  and major in Musical Theater. She is also the current Miss Scottsbluff County and hopes to participate in the Miss America pageant. Mr. Ingram is equally accomplished and is planning on attending WNCC on a soccer scholarship. He plans to major in English or Journalism.  We welcome Rotarian for the Torrington Wyoming club who are at the meeting to promote their annual fundraising event, A Wine Tasting and reverse raffle.  President Wolfe reminded all of us that we need to let the committee know about the Rotary Gold auction items. She also announced that those interested in attending the Rotary Leadership Institute, which is being held in Scottsbluff, the fee will be paid by the club. Our program today is the Scottsbluff attendees of last year’s R.Y.L.A. camp. Gering students were unable to attend, but four of the six Scottsbluff students were here to talk to the club. Shayla James, Tia Cabral, Millie Evekia and Carley Johnson relayed to the club the once in a lifetime experience they had at R.Y.L.A. For many it was a life changing event and for all they met friends which they stay in contact today. All plan to attend college and hope to use the things they learned at R.Y.L.A. in furthering their career.
