Carpenter Center Tumbling Program

Today our 2017-18 rosters were on the table for members to take. They contained committee assignments and the chairman’s for programs and invocation.  President Knutson encouraged everyone to look them over and note their assignments. Our program today was Bobbie Youel who is director of the Carpenter Center Tumbling program.  Mrs. Youel explained how her parents had a tumbling program when she was growing up in the area and she felt compelled to continue the tradition.  Her program began with 65 students and has grown to 350, ranging from 18months to 16 years. With the large number of children showing interest, the center built a facility which could house it and allow for growth. Mrs. Youel showed a video which gave viewers a look at the equipment and size of the new facility. The emphasis is on tumbling and trampolines. Although the building is not large enough to allow them to qualify to compete on a national level, they are hosting meets on the state level.
