Luciana Silva, President of BR Help Center and past president of the Rotary Club of Greater Long Branch, receives thank you from club president Dave Brown for her presentation.

Highlights: Luciana arrived From Brazil to the U.S.A. in 1999. She soon recognized that residents and non-residents needed support to overcome obstacles and reach their goals to live in the U.S.A. With the help of the parish priest, she founded the BR Help Center at Christ the King Parish for one and a half years. To accommodate the need for expansion the Center was relocated to 489 Broadway, Long Branch. The Center feeds over 300 families a week and has a clothing drive.  The Center which is manned by volunteers accommodates all age groups. Some services provided are as follows: languages courses, legal advice, cultural events, assistance with forms and applications, health care assistance, financial advice and computer classes. The Center is totally supported by donations. The Center is the place to help bridge the Brazilian community with the general public.
