The UEZ program is a tax incentive program administered by the N.J. Department of community affairs that offers business benefits that encourage business growth and stimulate local economies. The UEZ membership program offers the reduced sales tax of 3.3125%, tax free purchases and financial assistance options. Some of these options include low interest loans, tax credit options, subsidized unemployment insurance, local UEZ incentives and improvement grants. The Community and Economic Development branch of the City of Long Branch is presenting a free Small Business Series to connect local businesses with experts, resources and the community. The first event will be on Thursday, October 1 at 4-5:00p.m. at Komodo Coffee, 20 third Ave., Long Branch. The speaker is Alison Gilbert, Director, Center for Entrepreneurship, Monmouth University. The speaker distributed flyers to the members.
