THE MAN AT PIER VILLAGE: Vice President of Retail for Applied Development Mr. Bob Wozmak, is thanked by Club President Mika Hon for his presentation.

Pier Village is About to Get “Lucky”.

The City of Long Branch has long been a summer destination for travelers seeking a vacation of sun, surf and sand. However in recent years the attraction to our city hasn’t been about the old but more about the new – as in the new restaurants, shops, hotels they have popped up all over town. And no destination symbolizes the “new” of Long Branch then Pier Village.

This past Friday, Bob Wozmak, the Vice President of Retail at The Applied Companies spoke to the Rotary Club at our weekly meeting about the plans for “Phase III” of the upscale shopping, dining and living community here on our shore.

“Phase III will include 43,000 sq. ft. of retail and we prefer to invite and engage local retailers for the space as has been our practice” said Wozmak.

The crown jewel of Phase III will be the 68- room boutique hotel, “The Lucky.” More in the style of The Bungalow Hotel in its size and upscale style, The Lucky Hotel will be built right on the boardwalk. The hotel will also overlook a new carousel that will be the centerpiece of the new expansion. Mr. Wozmak also mentioned that the carousel is set to be debuted this December in the main square.

The new Phase, which will run South to Morris Avenue, will also feature 240 new residential units. Groundbreaking on the expansive project is set to begin in January 2014. For more information on Pier Village, visit them on the web at: http://www.piervillage.com
