SCAVI Tours – Under St Peter’s Bascilica where the walls are over 2,000 years old.  It is the place where St Peter’s tomb was found.

Sienna – Neighbors sponsor horses for the Horse Race and celebrate for months.  Young women wear colors and pacifiers to symbolize rebirth.  The horses are blessed in the church.

Gordon Heggie gave some highlights of camping trip to Assateague Island, Maryland.

Gordon, Anna, Stephanie, Ken, and another couple camped on the beach at Assateague.

It was a beautiful place with large  sand dunes and wild ponies.  The weather was great and the food cooked outside added to the fun.

Years ago the ponies were brought to the island to avoid taxes based on the number of horses a person owned.  They would be rounded up after the tax collector was gone and brought back to the mainland.  Some would inevitably be left behind and they would breed.  There are now approximately 150 horses on the island.  They are very used to people but are wild animals and can be dangerous.

We took the Lewes-Cape May Ferry back to NJ,  a beautiful 1 ½ hr trip.  We had lunch in Cape May and returned home.  A Great mini vacation.

Meeting was adjourned by President Fatima.
