The meeting was called to order by President-elect Brian Berry. Al Peskoe led the Pledge of Allegiance and Paul Peacock delivered the Invocation. Brian welcomed the guests: Esther Cohen (Cedar & Beaches) was a guest of Gordon Heggie and Barbara Youcah (Eatontown Sheraton) was a guest of Mike Ciavalino.
President Elect Brian made the following announcements:
- Patty O’Neill from the Link will be our speaker next week.
- We mentioned to the Ronald McDonald House that the Club would be willing offer assistance on any project need completed. They recently replied that they are looking for help in painting the stucco on the exterior of the building. We will arrange for a day where rotarians donate our time. Stay tuned…..
- Brian mentioned that we need a representative from the Club to serve on the Lombardi dinner committee. Brian has served in this capacity for number of years and he said they meet once a month until the dinner which is usually held in February/March time frame. Our Club receives funding based on our participation.
- Fellow Club member, Lt. Col. Spence, will be running a marathon in support of Ficher House. The Fisher House Foundation is best known for the network of comfort homes built on the grounds of major military and VA medical centers nationwide and in Europe. Fisher Houses are beautiful homes, donated to the military and Department of Veterans Affairs. These homes enable family members to be close to a loved one at the most stressful time - during the hospitalization for a combat injury, illness or disease. Please consider helping Lt. Col. Spence in his cause and best of luck on the Marathon!
- The Club’s 50/50 will be drawn on December 13th so continue selling those tickets!
- There are a few members that have not paid their dues. Please make sure you are up-to-date.
- The Clean Ocean Action annual fall beach sweep will be held on October 19th beginning at 9:00am at Pier Village. We are hoping to have a team of Rotarians there to help.
