ARC was founded in 1949 by a group of families. This non-profit organization works to improve the lives of adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Funds are provided by Medicare, the State and donations. The speaker described in detail the many services offered such as the following; Individual and family support health services, recreation programs, education, help with learning skills, seeking employment and residential programs. The Monmouth County ARC serves 1600 individuals within 20 locations. A fundraiser is planned for April 5, 2025. The speaker distributed literature describing the mission and the programs offered by the organization.
