Great Art for a Great Cause:

Rotary Club of Long Branch Announces 2nd Annual Art Show

The Rotary Club of Long Branch once again invites you to simultaneously stimulate the senses of sight, sound and taste at their 2nd annual art show.

The show will be held on Thursday April 25th from 6pm until 8pm at the Deal Country Club in Ocean Twp.

The evening will feature original artistic pieces for sale of varying styles proudly displayed by some of the area’s finest local artists. Tickets for the event are affordably priced at only $40 per person and include wine and beer samplings courtesy of Shore Point Distributors, a delicious assortment of passed Hors D’ouerves, pasta stations and artisanal brick oven pizzas, live entertainment and various silent auction and raffle baskets.

A portion of the evenings’ proceeds will be donated to the newly established Karen Hansen Memorial Scholarship Fund. Individuals who have an interest in pursing a career in Special Education will have the opportunity to apply for an award from this Scholarship Fund. The Fund has been established in the memory of Karen Hansen, who passed away in September of 2012, and the wife of long time Rotarian and Club Service Chair, Roger Hansen.  Over the course of her 40-year teaching career, Karen dedicated her life to Special Education and making a profound difference in the lives of many young students.

For information on tickets and sponsorship opportunities or if you are an artist looking to display and sell your artwork, please email Mika Hon at: mika@njinkshop.com, call him 848-391-5181, or stop by NJ Ink Shop during normal business hours at 177 Locust Ave in West Long Branch.

In other Club News, our Food Drive is still underway through June. To date we’ve delivered over 1000 pounds of food and $12,000 dollars to the churches and pantries of Long Branch.

Please do what you can to help those less fortunate in our community by dropping off canned and non-perishable goods at our meeting or any of the drop off points.
