Rotary Club is supporting the Jersey Shore Autism Foundation event September 20, details to follow.
The membership goal for this year is 12 new members
$1124 was garnered from the Lombardi event to go into our general fund
The club is starting our own 50 - 50. Sell 1000 tickets and $10 each
3 winners get 50%, 30%, 20%
$4000 will go to our Club
$1000 will go towards Shelter Box
Drawing will be December 13
New Club initiative will be to put Rotary signs around town.
Roger spoke about the clambake and thanked Shore Point Distributors for the alcohol and Piancones for the food.
Long Branch Rotary Club Clambake set for August 15th
Food, Fun and Fellowship will be the order of the day when the Rotary Club of Long Branch hosts its annual Clambake Party. The event will be held once again at the Patton Avenue Ice Boat & Yacht Club beginning at 5pm.
The event will feature outdoor games, Margarita's, Sangria, beer, soda, Lobster, and a full buffet by Piancone's in Long Branch. “This is the club’s FUN raiser not a Fund raiser” said Clambake Committee Chair Roger Hansen. “It’s a really wonderful time every year.” The rain or shine event will also feature the 2nd annual bocce competition between the Long Branch and Asbury Park clubs. “We look forward to cleaning their clocks again this year,” said Hansen. Rotary Fellowships
The Club received an informative presentation from Joe Stringfellow from the Willingboro, NJ Club on Rotary Fellowships. These groups within a group are made up of Rotarians, Rotarian spouses and Rotaractors who join together to share a common interest in a worthwhile activity. This could be sports, or any hobby, such as wine enthusiasts, bird watching or really any common pursuit. It provides a valuable and fun way to bring more people to Rotary and enhance an individuals experience in Rotary.
