Highlights: The L.B. Library was awarded the 2023 National Medal for Museum & Library Service given by the federally supported Institute of Museum and Library Service. Senator Cory Booker nominated the library for the award. The mission of the library is to meet the needs of users from toddlers to seniors by creating relevant services and programs. The Broadway location is under renovation and will reopen in September. The library is temporarily relocated at 131 Bath Ave., Long Branch. Membership is free to L.B. residents. For non-residents the fee is $20. A full time social worker is on staff. Some of the numerous services available are: special programs for children & adults, citizenship classes, community space for bookings, a local history room, copy and faxing machines & services, wi-fi & hot spot rentals, free notary services, standard test practices (GRE, SAT, etc.), job research, resume writing, free trouble shooting for computers and help with taxes. There will be a program for Black History Month. The speaker distributed brochures to everyone.
