Our Food Drive is going strong we are delivering to Christ the King Parish this week. Keep bringing
the non-perishable food to our weekly meetings.
We did not have a scheduled speaker this week but Len asked J Tango to speak about the logistics that were put in place
at Monmouth Medical anticipating Super Storm Sandy. J explained that the Hospital had a plan in place and considering that
there was no power for a week the Hospital was able to function seamlessly. Congratulations to J and his team, it is due to their
dedication that we have a great Hospital at our doorstep.
J is in the Reserves and was called to duty during the storm. J explained how his unit was able to disperse gasoline to first responders and then the general public from trucks that had been sent to New Jersey from FEMA (no easy task)
J also talked about the fact that it was the first time that they had to feed many people for over a week, three meals a day.
We were all fascinated with the movement of troops their equipment and supplies and did not want J to stop talking!
We will be asking J to speak again! Thank you J for your Service.
Pres. Elect Mika presented Tyler Richards, Habitat for Humanity Board member, with a check for $7,000 to help in the rebuilding after Super Storm Sandy.
