Rotary Youth Leadership Awards (RYLA) is a leadership development program run by Rotary. While participants can be any age, most events focus on secondary school students, university students, or young professionals. RYLA events are typically 3–10 days long and include presentations, activities, and workshops that cover a variety of topics, including:

·        Leadership fundamentals and ethics

·        Communication skills

·        Problem solving and conflict management

·        Community and global citizenship

Ted Friedli introduced guest speaker Lee Rubin.

Lee was a hometown star, a three-sport student-athlete who, through hard work, determination, and faith, became a three-year starter and defensive captain for Penn State’s Football team.
He is now a professional speaker and author of the book "WIN", addressing and inspiring audiences across the country, through keynote addresses, corporate training sessions, student leadership conferences, awards ceremonies and other events, with his powerful, insightful and relatable messages of leadership development and personal growth.

Lee spoke of the three traits of winners:

·        A clear sense of identity.

·        Set Specific goals

·        Embrace adversity.
