Speaker Mark Schulman, PhD. - Award winning pollster and policy analyst
Topic: Reflections on the Role of Public Opinion Polling
Dr. Schulman was awarded his PhD. by Rutgers University. He related anecdotes about his career projection from his position as political science professor at Rutgers University to joining the Harris Polling Company, a market research and analysis organization. Ultimately, he co-founded SRBT, one of the largest public opinion and market research firms now part of ABT Associates. He served as TIME Magazine pollster for 10 years and served on the ABC News Election Desk for many years. He discussed tracking public opinion polls and policy issues for elections and for many foundations and industries such as fast-food, nuclear, genetic testing in the workplace, spousal abuse and first responders from 911. In conclusion he cited some case studies of how polling impacted marketing and public policy directives.
