A wonderful time was enjoyed by all at the Rotary Club of Greater Long Branch’s Annual Summer BBQ, graciously hosted by Terry Janeczek at her home. The rain held off, allowing approximately 90 guests to gather and enjoy delicious Local Smoke BBQ along with Sangria, beer, and soft drinks.
A stunning cake from Andrea’s Delicious Farms helped celebrate America’s 250th birthday while honoring outgoing Club President Dave Brown and incoming President Walt Thistlewaite. Club members also contributed cakes, cookies, and refreshments, adding to the festive spirit.
Local restaurants and businesses generously donated gift certificates for the raffle, helping raise funds to support the Club’s Jingle Bell Buddies Program. This program—founded and led by Terry—provides gifts and food to 12 Long Branch families in need each Christmas, bringing comfort and joy during the holiday season.
Outgoing President Dave Brown, who served three years as president, brought in several new members, and continues to serve in multiple capacities throughout the community, was presented with a Community Service Award along with his second Rotary International Paul Harris Award.
The evening also included the induction of new member Ed Markman, sponsored by Mike and Retta Schwartzstein, as he joined the Rotary family.
A big thank you to everyone who helped with setup before the BBQ and cleanup afterward — your support made all the difference.
