The International Service Committee of Rotary District 7410 is conducting a fund raiser on February 17th, 2024 at the Mohegan Sun Arena in Wilkes-Barre.  See attached flyer.  PS- if you want to NOT pay the FEVO fee for your ticket purchase, call Colby Gaugler as listed on the flyer and order your tickets from him.

In addition to the tickets offered in the flyer, the committee has been donated 14 tickets and 4 VIP parking passes for a suite, by NBT Bank.   This is a great opportunity for a Rotary Club or any group to gather together to enjoy the hockey game, while also supporting the cause.

The committee would like to offer the 14 tickets for a $100 donation each , and or a donation of $25 each for the VIP parking passes.  The funds raised from this will benefit the same subject as articulated on the attached flyer.

The purchase  of catered food will also be available at the suite by contacting the attendant there to order and pay for your food with the food service.

If you would like to donate to acquire any of these tickets please contact me at the below.

Since December 2022, our Rotary District 7410 has sent over $13,000 in donations from fellow Rotarians and non Rotarians to the Warsaw City Poland Rotary in support of this effort.

This is a wonderful update on the efforts by the Warsaw City Poland Rotary Club in providing humanitarian relief to Ukrainian refugees.  This club is also a participant in the Global Grant that our District and Clubs are participating in to get water treatment equipment to Zaporizhzhia, Ukraine.

This will be the 12th year Rotary District 7410 will host this impactful leadership program for our area youth.

RYLA 2024 will be held Sunday June 23 through Thursday June 27, 024 at Keystone College in LaPlume, Pennsylvania.  For budgeting purposes, the cost per student remains at $375, which is an incredible value for all this 5-day/4-night program offers.  RYLA is a leadership training program for area young people, full of activities that engage students physically, mentally, and emotionally to strengthen their relationship skills, build their self-confidence, and give them the tools to be leaders.

Again this year the application is available on-line.  Applications are open and the link can be found on the website: bit.ly/RYLAD74102024App

Click on the "What We Do" tab on the District 7410 Homepage to find the application and two RYLA information documents (also attached in this message) for RYLA 2024.  Applications are open to high school sophomores going into their junior year.

The recent update on the PolioPlus efforts that continue by the Global Polio Eradication Initiative that includes Rotary International, points to the need to continue the effort to rid the world of polio.  Our Rotary District 7410 PolioPlus Society continues to support that effort with each individual doanting at least $100 a year to the Rotary Foundation in this effort.  If you haven't joined the society yet, consider doing so.  If you are a past member, please consider renewing your membership in the PolioPlus Society.  See attached for more information.

It is a really easy process.  Just make a donation on the Rotary Foundation website and then e-mail me the confirmation you receive from the Rotary Foundation.  Dave Palmer will follow-up with you to arrange for a pinning ceremony at your club meeting or any other venue you prefer.

Five local Districts in our area have combined to send a Rotary International Disaster Relief Fund grant of $125,000 to Ukraine. This Grant will be administered in partnership with Rotarians in Kyiv, the Ukraine capital. It provides humanitarian assistance to a medical shelter by supplying beds, mattresses, blankets, linens and pillows and other necessary items.

If you wish to know more or contribute to these efforts, please contact Rotary District 7410.

Rotary District 7410 is made up of People of Action, with over 1100 members encompassing 41 Rotary Clubs in Northeastern Pennsylvania, covering 10 counties. Each club is striving to do good in their communities and around the World!
