Dear Fellow Rotarians,
I sincerely thank you for the dignity and sincerity of your tributes following the terrible accident involving our District Governor, Serge Poulin. Your collective support and kind thoughts are a great comfort to all of us. I am certain that Serge would be deeply moved by all these tributes.
The tragic loss of Serge Poulin, an exceptional Rotarian, leaves a huge void in the district and in the hearts of most of us.
Coming to terms with this void, accepting the pain, grieving, and talking with others are all part of the natural process of mourning and emotional healing.
Now, we must move forward in this grieving process and acknowledge that Serge Poulin is no longer with us, except in our memories.
Life goes on for us despite our sadness. And this is very painful and very difficult for all of us.
Regarding our District 7790, and according to Bylaw 2.020: “…the vice governor shall assume the duties and responsibilities of the district governor in the event that the district governor is no longer able to fulfill his or her term of office.”
For Rotary International, Bylaw 16.050 states: “…the role of the vice governor is to replace the governor in the event that the governor is unable to perform his or her duties.”
Driven by the pride, deep respect, and above all, the profound friendship that binds me to our District Governor Serge Poulin:
It is a true honor for me to accept the position of acting governor for Serge Poulin for the 2026–2027 term in District 7790.
Thank you for your cooperation and support,
Dino Marzaro
District Governor 2026-2027
District 7790
