Rotary Opens Opportunities

DG Joel Phillibert and his wife ValerieBorn in Coaticook, the eldest of a family of two, he grew up there until the age of 17 to go to school in Montreal. 3 years in Technical Thanatology at Rosemont College. Once he graduated, he moved to Quebec City to work in the funeral field, in a laboratory for 5 years, then as branch manager and general manager for 12 years. An opportunity in 2010 allows him to become the owner of a funeral services company in Lévis, for funeral homes in the Quebec City area.

He met Valérie in 1996, they have been married for 20 years. They are parents of 3 beautiful children, Gabriel, Raphaël and Laurence. Valérie is also a thanatologist.
 
A Rotarian since March 2008, he was inducted into the Rotary Club of Charlesbourg. Following a change of job in 2010 he transferred to the Club of St-Nicolas Chutes-de-la-Chaudière. In March 2012 he participated in a humanitarian mission to Guatemala for a water project, which changed his Rotary life forever. In 2012-2013 he became President of his Club, from 2013 to 2016 as Assistant Governor, from 2016 to 2019 as Coordinator of the AG-Quebec. It is with enthusiasm that he will be the Governor of District 7790 for the Rotary Year 2020-2021.
 
He sees the following year as an opportunity to change the ways of Rotary, by being flexible, innovative and adapting to today's reality. He wants to listen to members, help them grow as a club, and help them achieve their goals.
